    Simpson: No Nugent change

    07 Jun 2007 - 08:10:55

Preston North End boss Paul Simpson has reiterated his desire to keep David Nugent at Deepdale.

The England striker has continually been linked with a move to the Premier League with Everton mentioned as his probable destination.

Despite failing to win promotion to the top-flight last season, Simpson still hopes to keep the coveted hitman at the Championship club.

However, the Lilywhites boss is realistic that the club's prize asset could be lured away during the summer.

"We're not hiding anything," Simpson told the club's official website.

"As much as the rumours are circulating around, until there is anything definite then we have got nothing to say about it.

"We had all the kit for the pre-season delivered on Monday and we will be marking David Nugent's kit up for him because, at this moment, I'm expecting him to come back to us.

"In a way it will be out of our hands. We can't do anything, we're not trying to sell him, we've got him here and we want it to stay that way."

Nugent's future is expected to be resolved when he returns from international duty with the England Under-21 side at this month's European Championship in the Netherlands.
