Preston Maintain Unbeaten Start
North End stretched their unbeaten league run to nine for the season and more impressivley have still to be beaten at home under Grayson's tenure.
Grayson started with a front three of Davies, Hume and Beavon who proved a handful for the Swindon backline. The back three with wingbacks appears to be a settled line now whilst Byrom continued alongside Keane in midfield.
Preston dominated the first half and will believe that they should have been more than one goal up at the break after having the majority of the ball and creating chances.
North End took the lead with a good move involving Davies, His intellingent play was rounded off by a simple header from Hume although the ball could have been in the net a lot earlier than it was.
The home side squandered chances with Swindon rarely venturing forward int he first forty five. The second goal came shortly after the break much to the relief of the surging home team.
The goal when it came was comical. Between them Wes Foderingham and ex-loanee Macevely contrived to score the starngest own goal for some time. Macevely was in acres of space in the box when he was set to pump the ball clear. He sliced his kick and bizarelly ended up chipping his own keeper who was helpless to prevent the ball from enetering the net.
Preston continued to push forward but Swindon came into the game int he last 15 minutes when N'Guessan scored a beautifully curled goal from range. Rudd then had to make one fine save to deny Swindon what would have been an undeserved point.
There was some relief at the end that North End held on for all three points in a game where they should have been far more comfortable. They now move to probably their most trickiest fixture so far away at Peterbrough which will test their unbeaten start.
