Parry seals Deepdale switch
04 Aug 2009 - 12:26:57
Preston North End have signed Paul Parry from Championship rivals Cardiff City.
The Newport-born midfielder passed a medical at the Deepdale club and, once the formalities were agreed, put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.
Parry joined the Bluebirds from Hereford United in the summer of 2004 and made 166 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals. He has represented Wales 11 times.
Speaking to the club's official website, Preston boss Alan Irvine said: "He's a wide player in a winger type.
"He's not a wide midfield player which you quite often get. He likes to attack people and he'll be encouraged to attack people as well.
"Paul definitely gives us options. Everyone is aware we've only had five players for four midfield positions. Paul makes that six, which makes me feel an awful lot better."
