Nugent not for sale

Preston North End chairman Derek Shaw has once again insisted that David Nugent will not be heading out of Deepdale this month.

The former Bury striker has been linked with a host of Premiership clubs but Shaw is in no mood to sell the club's star player.

"We have 19 Cup finals left and David Nugent is not for sale, we want to get to the Premier League," Shaw told Preston's official website.

"David Nugent has been tremendous for us and I'm sure he'll play in the Premier League, but we want that to be with Preston North End and we don't want to sell him.

"He'll be a big player for us in these 19 Cup Finals and we'll assess the situation again after that."
