North End swoop for Priskin

Preston North End have snapped up Watford striker Tamas Priskin after losing fellow loanee Craig Beattie to injury.

Beattie is set to miss an extended period after picking up a hamstring problem on his debut during Tuesday's 1-0 win at Leicester City.

But North End boss Alan Irvine has moved quickly to sign the Hungary international striker while the on-loan West Brom frontman is sidelined.

Priskin has joined the Deepdale club on an initial one-month basis.

Earlier in the week, Preston had allowed striker Brett Ormerod to join Nottingham Forest on loan.

"He's a big lad. He's strong, but not a physical type of player," Irvine told the club's official website.

"He's a player who is good technically and is a powerful runner."
