Preston North End midfielder Barry Nicholson is delighted with the way he has started his career at Deepdale.
The 30-year-old made the move to England last summer, following spells with Rangers, Dunfermline Athletic and Aberdeen and is happy with the way he has adapted to a new challenge.
He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "It was time for a change and I wish I'd done it earlier, because I'm loving it at Preston.
"Aberdeen tried to persuade me to stay, but I'd made my mind up six months before to leave. I felt the time was right to try something new.
"All this is a completely different experience, the Championship is such a tight and demanding league.
"I don't think there's too much difference between the SPL and the Championship, though."
