Preston North End striker Neil Mellor is determined to put his injury problems behind him in his fight to earn a new contract at Deepdale.
The 25-year-old has scored 11 goals in 47 appearances during his first two seasons with the Lilywhites, having struggled with knee problems on several occasions.
Mellor told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I'm really happy here, I signed for three years and I'm into my last year.
"Hopefully, with a good pre-season this year, the manager can see what I can do and hopefully tie me up a little longer. I'm very happy at the club.
"Obviously I have wanted to do more than I have done in the time I have been here and last year was my first fully-fit season.
"I think the manager knows I'm the type of player who might just pop up with a goal and, in the Championship, that's quite a valuable player to have in your squad.
"I started 13 games last season and I just want to start as many games as possible next season."
