McKenna woe for Preston
05 Jun 2007 - 07:50:06
Preston North End midfielder Paul McKenna looks set to miss the start of the new season as he continues to struggle to overcome a groin injury.
The 29-year-old has not played since late February and has now been diagnosed that he has a partial rupture of his adductor muscle.
Lilywhites boss Paul Simpson told the club's official website: "It's not good news.
"He has been to see the specialist because he has been working over the close season with Steve Kemp, the physio, and there just hasn't been any improvement.
"It has been setback after setback so we sent him to another specialist, who basically said that he needs a long period of rest.
"At the moment it doesn't look as though he is going to be fit for the start of the season."
