McKenna set for return
10 Oct 2007 - 13:54:46
Preston North End midfielder Paul McKenna is set to play for the first time in over seven months when he turns out for the reserves on Wednesday evening.
The 29-year-old has been sidelined with a groin problem since February, but has been named in the side that will face Morecambe at Deepdale.
"We'll see how many games he needs before he's ready to get back into the first team," North End boss Paul Simpson told the club's official website.
"It's been a long time since we had him in the first team so it may just take a little while.
"I think that even when he comes back, he could still be a little short, but we just need to get him back playing.
"We think the planned October return that was banded around was more in hope than anything, but I'm pleased he's back in training and he's looking sharper each day."
