McCormack to quit Preston

Unsettled Preston North End midfielder Alan McCormack has handed in a transfer request at Deepdale. The 22-year-old Irishman has made only three substitute appearances for the Lilywhites during a disappointing campaign. But, following the arrival of Tommy Miller on loan from Sunderland earlier in the week, McCormack is keen to move on to kick-start his career. McCormack came through the ranks at Preston, but spent the whole of last season on loan at SPL side Motherwell.
