Lonergan plans to carry on keeping
The homegrown stopper, 25, has emerged as one of the finest talents outside the Premier League in recent seasons. He enjoyed an outstanding campaign last term as North End reached the Championship play-offs and has been in fine form again this season. Lonergan told the Lancashire Evening Post: "When you see older goalkeepers in the top flight, Mark Schwarzer, Brad Friedel and Jussi Jaaskelainen, they've matured and got better with age, then you realise you could go on for another 15 years. "David James is a great example, playing in the Premier League and for England at 39, and a lot of these guys only peaked when they'd got past 30 and beyond. "I'm only 25 and I'm convinced that I will only be getting close to my peak when I'm between 32 and 35."
