Lindsay Steps Down
Published : 01 Dec 2011 21:47:51
Preston Chairman Maurice Lindsay has stepped down from his position on health grounds.
Lindsay who is in his 80's went in for a routine knee operation in August but developed blood poisoning and was rushed back into hospital. He has been there for the best part of three months although there was never any mention that his condition was critical.
The Chairman seemed to have got over the problem and returned to work last week apologising for his absence due to illness. However, only a week later an official announcement was made stating Lindsay has stepped down due to his health problems.
Although Lindsay has only been in charge for a short time under the control of Hemmings, he has helped reduce the club's defecit and shifted some of the deadwood from the club. We wish Lindsay all the best in a speedy recovery.
