Lindsay keen to steady ship
Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay has assured fans that he has a long-term vision for the club.The former Wigan director does not believe the npower Championship outfit can achieve financial stability through quick-fix measures and stated that North End has been close to going bust.Lindsay has outlined a three-year plan to restructure the club which will look to reduce the current outlays on wages and player recruitment."I found a difficult situation when I came in but I'm determined to succeed," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph."The aim is to run the place properly, stop it going bust - it did come close to that - and to make us successful on the football pitch. We have a three-year plan in place."Darren Ferguson knows we need to be more prudent with our spending, more realistic, and we're working closely together. This season has to be about consolidation and stability."
