Preston North End have snapped up striker Paul Hayes on a free transfer from Championship rivals Scunthorpe United.
The 26-year-old, has agreed a three-year contract at Deepdale, having decided to end his second spell with the Iron this summer.
Hayes told his new club's official website: "I am very pleased to have this deal done, it has been in the press and kicking around for a long time and I am very pleased to be here now.
"The manager sold it to me. I've had a few meetings with managers from other clubs, but as soon as I got here he has welcomed me and my family and the manager, Darren Ferguson, sold it to me.
"The club is very ambitious, with a very ambitious manager and I am at that point in my career where I need to push on. I am hoping that this is the club to take my career forward."
