Lilywhites land Miller

Preston North End have signed Sunderland midfielder Tommy Miller on loan until the turn of the year.

The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with the Black Cats, having joined the club in the summer of 2005 on a free transfer from Ipswich Town.

Lilywhites boss Paul Simpson told the club's official website: "He's a goalscoring midfielder, different to what we have already have.

"We're delighted he is coming to us, we'll have a look at him and hopefully he's someone we can keep long-term.

"He's a very, very good athlete, he knows how to play, he's knows this division and he gets goals from midfield.

"He had the choice of a couple of other Championship clubs, but he has chosen us and that is a real big plus."
