Lilywhites land Latics tie

Preston will travel to Lancashire rivals Wigan in the Carling Cup third round.Darren Ferguson`s side needed extra-time to defeat Bradford in the previous round. Keith Treacy`s superb 109th-minute strike settled the tie in the Championship club`s favour following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes at Valley Parade.The last time the two sides met in the competition, Preston edged a thrilling first-round tie 3-2 at the old Springfield Park following a 4-4 draw in the first game at Deepdale.The tie will be played in the week commencing September 20.
