Manchester United midfielder David Jones has set his sights high after joining Preston North End on a season-long loan.
Ten years ago England captain David Beckham was a fringe player at United and used a loan spell at Preston to kick-start his career - something Jones hopes to emulate.
"I spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson when I came back after the month break and he was keen for me to go on loan somewhere this season and Preston is the perfect club for me," the 20-year-old told the club's official website.
"Beckham has come here before and hopefully I can do what he did, because he did well here and went back and had a big impact at Manchester United.
"Hopefully I can repeat that. He's achieved so much in the game and it would be great to do the same."
Jones was captain of United's reserve side last season and made just two first-team appearances, against Arsenal in the Carling Cup and Exeter in the FA Cup.
