The Championship's bottom club, Preston North End, have snapped up Norwich City striker Chris Brown for a fee in the region of £400,000.
The 23-year-old is Preston boss Alan Irvine's second signing of the week following the arrival at Deepdale of Richard Chaplow from West Brom.
Brown, who has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with Preston, endured an injury-ravaged spell at Carrow Road following his move from Sunderland 12 months ago, scoring only once in 16 starts for the club.
He enjoyed a more productive spell at Sunderland, scoring 11 goals in 35 starts for the Black Cats after starting his career with Doncaster Rovers.
