Irvine fearing Wallace exit

Preston North End boss Alan Irvine has admitted that he could lose loanee Ross Wallace in the New Year, despite a permanent deal having been agreed with Sunderland.

The 23-year-old winger has impressed since heading to Deepdale, scoring twice in 18 appearances for Irvine's side.

However, the Lilywhites boss still has reservations about a permanent deal being completed as planned.

He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "It is not all that clear at the moment.

"We are hoping to keep him beyond January, but all we can do is speak to Sunderland and speak to Ross and his agent and take it from there."
