Irvine expects quiet window
23 Jan 2009 - 07:25:22
Preston North End boss Alan Irvine doesn't expect his club to be too active in the January transfer window.
The Lilywhites have tied up permanent deals for loanees Ross Wallace and Eddie Nolan, but Irvine has no further deals in the pipeline.
He told the club's official website: "I don't think there is going to be a great deal of activity in this transfer window throughout the Football League and we are not going to be adding too much to that either.
"It has been quiet so far, it will no doubt get a bit silly next week in the build-up to the last day, but I don't think we will be doing too much.
"We don't have a lot of money, everybody knows that, and that's just the way things are.
"It's not because we wouldn't like to have a lot of money, but we know that we have to cut our cloth according to what we can afford."
