Goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski has returned to Poland after being released by Preston North End.
The 31-year-old moved to Deepdale from Dundee United in January but failed to start a game for Alan Irvine's side after picking up an injury in his first match for the reserves.
The Preston boss told the club's official website: "It was decided that we wouldn't be offering Szamo a contract at the end of the season and, rather than keep him back here, we've agreed by mutual consent that we'll finish his contract now and he's returning to Poland.
"We obviously feel that it's been unfortunate for him to have picked up the injury but it ended up being a bit more complicated then was first thought.
"That's made it impossible for us assess him as a goalkeeper, so we feel it would be better if we keep our options open over the summer."
