Davidson inspired by mighty Whites
Published : 04 Jan 2010 10:48:00

The Lilywhites eased into the fourth round of the competition after their 7-0 demolition of Colchester. Jon Parkin grabbed a hat-trick while Darren Carter, Chris Brown and Chris Sedgwick were also on target along with a Ben Williams own goal. Davidson revealed he would have liked an easier draw but hopes to emulate the success of Simon Grayson's men after they beat the Premier League champions 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday. He told the FA's official website: "We saw Leeds beat Manchester United so anything is possible in the FA Cup, which is what makes it such a great tournament. Hopefully we can be one of those success stories." He added: "I'd rather have had an easier draw but we'll give it a go and you never know what can happen. "It will be great for the fans and I am sure we'll get a good few down at Deepdale to support us. We had Liverpool last year and that was a sell-out so I am sure the chairman's happy with that one."
