The midfielder started life at Preston well ending up as the club's top scorer last term. He formed a partneship with John Welsh in midfield but this season his opportunities have been restricted with Keith Keane moving into midfield.
Wroe did enquire about his lack of first team football and Grayson has allowed the midfielder to join Shrewsbury to get some action although he will not be allowed to play in the FA Cup.
