Williams has been in and out of the Posh side this season and recently spent two months at QPR but will provide cover at Deepdale for injured skipper Callum Davidson.[LNB]Ferguson said: "He gives us that balance we've been looking for down the left-hand side as he is naturally left footed.[LNB]"We have been playing right-footed players on the left-hand side and whilst the people who have been doing the job have done okay, Tom can give us that extra balance.[LNB]"He knows the league, has good experience, he is quick and has good size. He is with us on loan and we will see how it goes."[LNB]Williams goes straight into Ferguson's squad for Tuesday night's trip to Derby.[LNB]The 29-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm very pleased to be here. I jumped at the chance and I can't wait to get started with two massive games in a week.[LNB]"I spoke to a few of the lads and it is a squad that is determined and definitely has the ability to make the play-offs, we have seen that in the last couple of years.[LNB]"With 16 games still to play this season, there are lots of points to pick up and we'll see where we can take it."[LNB]On Ferguson, Williams added: "The manager knows me really well. He knows what I'm about, how I train and play and I was pleased to get a call from him to say he wanted to take me on loan. I worked with all the staff and get on really well with them."[LNB][LNB]
