Westley Wins

Preston started their pre-saeson as they intend to go on as they beat Southport in their first friendly before the season starts.

Preston put out two different teams in each half as is the tradition in the first pre-season game of the summer. This meant that Westley had to put several triallists in his line up due to the small nature of his squad along with the outcasted members who are no longer welcome.

The game was won early on thanks to an own goal and a penaly by Byrom who is on trial with Preston after leaving Stevenage. The Whites will be happy with a win whilst looking to push on over the next few weeks.
