Wellbeck To Make Decision Shortly

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that a decision will be taken on the immediate future of striker Danny Wellbeck when they return from their pre-season tour of North America. Wellbeck played well on Wednesday in United's latest victory in North America. Fergie Snr insists that WEllbeck needs a long run of games after the last few years have been stop start for Wellbeck due to a combination of injury and others blocking his first team path. Sunderland have expressed an interest in buying Wellbeck outright but a decision has to be taken by United as to whether they want to keep the young striker and send him on loan for a season which seems the preferred option. It seems that Fergie Snr wants to give Wellbeck games in order to prove himself and if a deal to Sunderland falls through then Preston may well be favourites. Fulham had also been interested but that was before Roy Hodgson left the club.
