Preston have signed Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck on loan for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old, who signed a four-year extension to his United contract in December, goes straight into the North End squad in time for Tuesday's trip to Peterborough.
Manchester-born Welbeck, who becomes Darren Ferguson's first signing as Preston boss, has scored five goals in 24 appearances for United.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has confirmed his interest in signing Peterborough midfielder Paul Coutts.
Ferguson said: "There are two or three we have spoken to and Paul is one we have enquired about.
"We have not made an offer, we have just enquired, so we will see what happens - it could be a busy week."
