Wednesday Hopeful Of Completing Mellor Deal

Despite failing to agree a deal with Sheffield Wednesday, it appears that the Yorkshire club are still optimistic about securing Neil Mellor's signature for next term. It is no secret that Preston want Mellor off their wage bill being a high earner at the club and it is these wages that have prevented him signing a permanent contract at Wednesday after spending last season their on loan. Phil Brown is expecting the frontman to return to Preston for pre-season training this week but Wednesday chairman has once again reiterated his intent to secure a permanent deal for the striker.
