Sources in the press suggest that Brian Laws, the Burnley manager could be set to table an offer for Preston wideman Ross Wallace. Laws has been looking to recruit a left winger since Burnley's relegation. He has made several attempts to lure Driver away from Hearts but it appears his attention has now been turned elsewhere. Wallace has been at Preston for two seasons and would command a substantial fee should he move clubs. Ferguson has been told he needs to sell before he can bring in new players but Wallace is not on the transfer list and would be a player that the manager would be prepared to keep.
