Wallace earns Scotland call-up
Dundee-born Wallace, 24, is one of three uncapped players named in the 22-man squad by George Burley, along with Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass and Daniel Fox from Celtic.
The game against Japan takes place on October 10, the hosts using the game as part of their preparations for next year's World Cup.
North End defender Eddie Nolan is in the Republic of Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Montenegro in Dublin.
And midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski is in the Macedonia squad for a friendly against Qatar.
