Rookie Manchester United midfielder Matty James has thanked Preston following the end of his loan spell at Deepdale. The 19-year-old had two injury-disrupted stints at the relegation-threatened Championship club but has now headed back to Old Trafford. James told Preston`s official website: "Firstly I want to apologise to the Preston fans because I have been injured for a long period of time. "I ended up coming back a bit too early and damaging my ankle again. I'm still injured to this point, so my aim is to get back to fitness again, start training and build myself back up. "Mainly though, I want to say a massive thank you to Preston North End Football Club for giving me a chance to play there on loan. I want to say a special thank you to the fans though and the players as well. "I will be looking out for Preston's results for the rest of the season and I really hope the club can get out of the position it currently finds itself in."
