Preston boss Phil Brown looks set to persist with on-loan Everton goalkeeper Iain Turner between the posts when his rock-bottom side travel to Watford.

Brown axed regular number one Andy Lonergan and replaced him with him new recruit Turner for Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Hull. Brown said: "Iain Turner played well enough for me. He obviously knows the challenge and is over the moon at the opportunity of playing first-team football."

Rookie defender Conor McLaughlin suffered a fracture to his left fibula and a dislocated ankle in the recent defeat to Bristol City and faces several months on the sidelines.

Striker Iain Hume could remain sidelined with a hamstring strain as Brown bids to guide North End to their first win since he took the reins last month.
