Preston manager Darren Ferguson says he is impressed by Spanish trialist Jonathan Aspas and plans to take a closer look in a friendly next week. The 28-year-old, who is a former Celta Vigo midfielder, is a free agent after his club in Belgium, Mouscron, folded. [LNB]Ferguson told BBC Radio Lancashire: "The lad looks like he can play - he's got a good understanding of the game, a bit of experience, a good CV." [LNB]Aspas is one of several trialists hoping to earn a contract at Preston. [LNB]The club are also giving a trial to 26-year old striker Sebastien Grax, who started his career at Monaco, and to an unnamed Czech goalkeeper. [LNB]"The French boy Sebastien looks technically good as you'd expect, but Jonathan's the one who's impressed," added Ferguson. [LNB]"He had a bad injury but he looks fit enough. We've had a good look at his knee and he's got a good pedigree. [LNB]"Unfortunately he went to Belgium and the club went bust, so we've got him in. [LNB]"Again, the weather's stopped us having a look in a game, which is why this match is perfect for us, plus one or two other players need a game to get their fitness up."
