Graham Westley changed his side once again although some of the changes were enforced. Iain Hume, a striker, played up front with Holroyd in support. THe good news was that Danny Mayor was back from injury on the left. Ehmer and Proctor anchored the midfield whist Morgan was left out with Wright partnering Robertson at the back.
In fairness Preston started well and looked like the most potent attacking force that they had been for somem time under Westley. Some may say that is hardly difficult whilst others may point to the fact that it was Sir Tom's big day but a genuine attempt was made going forward even if it did not lead to anything serious.
MK Dons actually struck somewhat against the run of play but it was a good move. Parry was undone on the left before a pass in the middle was dummyied before the striker was allowed to go clean through slotting past Stuckmann.
The visitors then came more into the game controlling possession and certainly running the midfield with Chadwick showing his experience and epertise running the game.
Preston tried hard in the second half and this was a much improved performance from recent matches where things have been poor to say the least.
The Whites were still in the game when they got a corner on the stroke of the 90th minute. Stuckamann went up for the corner and was unmarked at the back. His appearance somewhat put the defence off and they failed to mark Bailey Wright who nodded home from close range.
Preston maintain the gap between themselves and the relegaion zone and it now looks like they will just need to secure a couple more points to be sure of safety for the season.
