Striker talks on hold

Nathan Ellington has vowed to put talks about his future to one side in an attempt to help Preston avoid relegation from the Championship. The 29-year-old striker, who scored his first goal for North End during Saturday's 1-0 win over Coventry, is currently on loan from Watford but will not be offered a new deal at Vicarage Road when his current contract runs out in the summer. Ellington told the Lancashire Evening Post: "I'm a free transfer in the summer, so who knows what will happen. My loan here is until the end of the season - when that finishes I'll see what comes up. "Maybe Preston will want me to stay, maybe they won't, or another club might want me. I'll think about that when the time is right. "Hopefully I can help Preston stay up, then I can think about my own career."
