St Ledger returns to North End

The Irish international joined Boro in September in a loan deal with a view to a £4million plus transfer.[LNB]St Ledger made 15 appearances for Boro, but he was signed by Gareth Southgate, who was sacked soon after the deal.[LNB]Now Gordon Strachan has come in and seemingly has other targets, with Celtic's Gary Caldwell widely tipped to make a January switch to Teesside.[LNB]Boro will now save cash on the St Ledger deal after he moved back to Deepdale.[LNB]St Ledger could be in line to play for Preston over the forthcoming Christmas period.[LNB]"Sean has returned from the North East and will train with Alan and the rest of the squad on Christmas Day and will be available to play against Barnsley and Sheffield United," said Preston chairman Derek Shaw.[LNB][LNB]
