St Ledger hails Brown effect

Preston defender Sean St Ledger believes Phil Brown has breathed new life into the club following his arrival at Deepdale.

Brown marked his debut as North End boss by slumping to a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round on Saturday. Focus now switches back to the club's fight against relegation, with the club seven points adrift of safety in the npower Championship.

But St Ledger has seen what Brown can offer and said: "The manager has come in and he's been a breath of fresh air.

"He's very positive and I will be giving my all to the end of the season to try and stay up, which I think we will do.

"Whatever has happened, we still have 22 games left. If we can get a win, it will breathe confidence."
