Smith Deal Complete

Preston have finally completed the signing of a left back after a search that has gone on for most of the Summer came to an end. Phil Brown has been without a regular left back since Callum Davidson was allowed to leave at the start of the season. Brown has seen many left backs on trial but finally captured one on a permanent basis. Steven Smith has signed on a one year deal from Norwich. The 26 year old spent the second half on loan at Aberdeen where Craig Brown just didn't have the funds to bring Smith to Scotland permanently. The former boss recommended Smith to his namesake at Preston and the rest is history. It is believed that Smith may start tomorrow despite missing much of pre-season. He has completed two full games recently but Brown will want a defender at left back as Parry has filled in for the first two games.
