The defensive player, 28, has signed a three-year deal with North End after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical at Deepdale. The fee is reported to be around £400,000. Shumulikoski has 53 caps for his country and has has also had spells at Zenit St Petersburg, FC Slovacko and NK Publikum. He arrived in England in January 2008 when Ipswich paid a reported £600,000 to Turkish Superlig outfit Bursaspor and, subject to a work permit, could be available for selection for this weekend's Championship opener against Bristol City before flying out to represent Macedonia against Spain. "I am very happy to be here at this brilliant club, with a brilliant manager and staff. I wanted to come here before but we had complications but now I am here," Shumulikoski said. "I am a defensive midfielder and I will give everything for my new manager. We have a long season ahead and hopefully I can work hard in many of those games."
