Sheehan Set To Sign

Phil Brown has had a number of players on trial over the past few weeks in preparation for the start of next season knowing that he will have to act quick to snap up the bargain deals. Swindon who have been relegated from League One have confirmed that Alan Sheehan has left before the end of the season and has had a trial period at Deepdale. The former Eire under 21 left back has been on trial at Preston and is expected to sign on a free transfer at the end of the season. Sheehan was most recently at Leeds but has spent time out out on loan at Oldham before he had a loan spell at Swindon. He then signed a deal at the Wiltshire club until the end of the season but now that contract has expired and Swindon have gone down, the Irishman is looking for a deal with the Whites. It is no secret that Brown requires a left back (as well as to centre backs and a right back) with Billy Jones filling in recently set to leave the club and Callum Davidson having already been released. It appears that the whole defence may well be reshaped by the start of next season.
