Chris Sedgewick who was released from Preston will join up with former boss Alan Irvine at Sheff Wed from the start of July after his contract officially expires at Deepdale. Sedgewick who has been loyal to North End was told by Ferguson that he was no longer required once his contract ran out in the summer. The 30 year old who is hard working impressed Ferguson who wished him well but the new boss is looking for new pacey wingers to play attacking football. Sedgewick will join the Owls playing under old boss Irvine and he may soon be joined by Eddie Nolan who is also surplus to requirements at Deepdale. Irvine is considering a move for the versatile defender.
