Scunthorpe still waiting on Nolan

Scunthorpe United are still no closer to knowing if loan defender Eddie Nolan will sign the permanent deal on offer to him.The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland cap was offered a contract by the Iron in October having been told by parent club Preston that he was free to move. [LNB]"I'm still unaware at the moment which is a frustrating thing," Iron boss Ian Baraclough told BBC Radio Humberside. [LNB]"We speak to him, we speak to his agent and there's no answer." [LNB]Nolan joined on a six-month loan deal in July and has found himself surplus to requirements at Preston.[LNB] If he goes, then I wish he could have told me earlier Scunthorpe manager Ian Baraclough on Eddie Nolan The former Blackburn academy utility defender's loan expires after the 3 January game at home to Watford at which point he must make a decision on where his future lies. [LNB]"There's a good contract on the table for him and I want him to stay, we all want him to stay. We're doing our utmost to get him to stay but he's his own man and we've done everything we can." [LNB]However, Baraclough admits they are prepared to look elsewhere in the event that Nolan decides not extend his stay at Glanford Park. [LNB]"We've been doing that for a couple of months but if he stays, fantastic. If he goes, then I wish he could have told me earlier," he said.
