Scunthorpe United have opened talks with Irish international goalkeeper Joe Murphy about a new contract. The 29-year-old is out of contract next summer but Murphy has told BBC Radio Humberside he would prefer to stay at Glanford Park. [LNB]However, he says he is looking for a contract that gives him some security. [LNB]"I'll be 30 next year and I've had year long contracts for the last two years which isn't great and I'd rather have a long term one now," he said. [LNB]Murphy has been the Irons' first choice goalkeeper since signing from West Brom in May 2006, and has been with the club through two promotions and one relegation. [LNB]He has refused to say whether he is likely to move on when the January transfer window opens. "I don't look at it like that, but people talk because I'm out of contract," he said. [LNB]"I've just moved house and you don't want to be thinking of moving. [LNB]"You can sign pre-contracts and things like that, and your agent might put it in your ear, but there's nothing been mentioned. I'm just concentrating on Scunthorpe."
