Russell up for the battle

Preston midfielder Darel Russell has urged his side to dig deep as they bid to haul themselves off the foot of the npower Championship. North End have won just one of their last nine games with last weekend's 3-1 defeat at QPR leaving them three points adrift at the foot of the table and six off safety. They host Millwall at Deepdale on Saturday and Russell admits they need to kickstart their campaign. He told the Evening Post: "It's easy for people to blame managers and coaches in this type of situation but the bottom line is we are the players out there. "If we are the ones making mistakes and not doing it, we have to take responsibility for that. "We need to look at ourselves and really start to get things going, realise the situation we are in and fight for our lives."
