Rift With Chairman Mau

Phil Brown has had an alleged rift with Maurice Lindsay over the lack of transfer activity in bringing players into the club. Whilst the manager fully accepts that he is working on a tight budget, the breaking point has come over the search for a new left back which explains why no signing has been made in that position. Brown had agreed to bring Matty Hill to Preston prior to his transfer to Blackpool. The manager explained the wage constraints to Hill whose wages would have been well within the club's range but Maurice Lindsay refused to sanction the tarnsfer. Brown has since failed to sign a left back for he club and it appears has threatened to walk out if he is not given the full backing from the chairman.
