Revolving Doors

It is that time of the year when players come and go with new contracts offered and some expired.

Preston announced their retained list soon earlier this week after the season ended last Saturday. There were no major surprises as Grayson confirmed Stuckmann has been offered a one year deal to stay as Preston are currently without another experienced recognised keeper.

Foster who has found it hard to break into the side after Wright and Huntington formed a strong partnership has been released after his short term contract expired. He should find a deal elsewhere looking capable at League One level.

Grayson obviously has too many centre halves at his disposal as Sheriff comes back from his loan spell. Robertson has been told that he can leave subject to an appropriate offer being received along with Proctor and Beardsley.

Bailey Wright also penned himself a new two year deal after playing well for the last third of the season as Preston look to keep an important member of their squad.

Three of the youth team have been given professional terms including Ben Davies who featured under Westley. Ryan Croasdale and keeper Steven James have also been offered deals. Grayson said more would have been kept on but Preston are simply unable to offer terms when they cannot fund a development squad at this moment in time.

There is a rumour that Grayson may seek a return for full back Connolly as the back four played well under his reign with Connolly nailing down a berth. There is also concern as to whether Rudd will return on loan from Norwich.
