Relief for Ferguson

Preston manager Darren Ferguson was relieved to finally see his team come away with all three points after a 2-1 victory at Coventry. North End ended a run of five successive defeats thanks in large part to goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and celebrated a win which lifts them off the foot of the npower Championship table. "That's a long time coming," said Ferguson, who completed the final match of his three-game touchline ban. "We dug in but it was an ugly game. "We didn't do nearly enough when we had the ball and we weren't composed enough. That's not me being critical because we showed great character. "That happens in games and it seemed liked a long 25 or 30 minutes after they got the goal back but we got tackles in, made blocks and got our head on things. "We got the rub of the green that maybe we haven't had in other games but I am a big believer that it will happen in this league, that things will turn around."
