Wroe blow for Preston

Preston will be without top scorer Nicky Wroe for Tranmere's visit to Deepdale.

Wroe received a red card for two bookable offences after half-time during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Carlisle and the former Torquay midfielder must serve a one-match ban.

Winger Will Hayhurst remains a doubt due to the hamstring problem that ruled him out at Brunton Park, while fellow wideman Lee Holmes could fall shy of his scheduled return from a similar complaint.

Forward Stuart Beavon (shoulder) and midfielder Keith Keane (hernia) are two more players for boss Simon Grayson to run the rule over.

If Beavon and Keane are absent it could mean first-team opportunities for Joe Garner and John Mousinho.

Winger Jeffrey Monakana is set to keep his place having marked a return to the starting XI with the opening goal against Carlisle.

Ronnie Moore has no new injury problems as his Tranmere side look to end a run of four consecutive 1-0 defeats.

The dismal run has all but ended Rovers' play-off prospects despite them spending the majority of this season in the upper reaches of npower League One.

Mamady Sidibe is expected to lead the line once more after the on-loan Stoke striker made a surprise return from an adductor problem against Hartlepool last week.

Cole Stockton could also push for a place in attack after scoring in the reserves' victory over Oldham in midweek.

Moore is unlikely to make any changes to his defence after on-loan Manchester United defender Sean McGinty went back to his parent club last week.

Club captain James Wallace (knee) and winger Adam McGurk (hip) are out for the season.
