Grayson to keep the faith

Simon Grayson is unlikely to make wholesale changes to his Preston line-up when Peterborough visit Deepdale.

North End's 12-match unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One was brought to an end with a 1-0 loss to Swindon on Saturday, yet Grayson does not want to disturb the settled team which had been in such impressive form.

The ex-Leeds boss did report a few minor knocks to unspecified players while striker Stuart Beavon's impressive cameo off the bench has given Grayson food for thought.

Club captain John Welsh, now fully fit after a knee problem, could make his first start in three games in the middle of the Lilywhites' midfield.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson could make changes.

Ferguson has no new injury problems following the weekend but is likely to tweak his starting line-up at Deepdale after the 1-0 home defeat to Rotherham.

Grant McCann and Danny Swanson, who were both introduced from the bench at half-time against the Millers, are options for Ferguson while Lloyd Isgrove is also competing for a starting spot. The 21-year-old winger, signed on loan from Southampton last week, has made two substitute appearances for Posh so far.

With Wembley on the horizon on Sunday Michael Bostwick will have to watch his step as a yellow card would see the midfielder miss the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Chesterfield through suspension.
