Striker Simon Makienok pushing for Preston debut against Oldham

Preston have no fresh injury concerns ahead of entertaining Oldham at Deepdale.

The Championship club remain without long-term injured duo Stevie May and Calum Woods, both of whom are set to be sidelined for months due to ligament tears in their knees.

Paul Huntington was back on the bench at the weekend following an abdominal strain and boss Simon Grayson, who has seen Joe Garner complete his move to Rangers, must decide how many changes, if any, he wants to make.

Striker Simon Makienok is still waiting for his full debut while midfielder Alan Browne could be among those coming back into the XI.

Oldham will check on Calaum Jahraldo-Martin and Jamie Reckord prior to the short EFL Cup trip.

Jahraldo-Martin missed out against Bury at the weekend because of a hamstring injury while Reckford's groin issues meant he was not risked having completed 90 minutes the weekend before against Walsall.

Boss Stephen Robinson may consider sticking with the team who guided him to his first league win at Gigg Lane on Saturday, while they have also kept three successive clean sheets.

Defender Ryan McLaughlin was on the bench on Saturday, despite a hamstring issue which has so far restricted him to just one appearance for his new club.
